How to set and reach or achieve goals?

To begin with, create a list of lifetime goals you want to achieve or reach for yourself. When you have done this, then you need to begin working toward accomplishing them. Break your goals down into smaller goals. Create a time line of 25 year, 5 year, and 1 year, and even 6 month plans. When you turn your big goals into a series of smaller goals, it makes them easier to reach and achieve. Create a To Do list for each day, to help you complete the steps needed to reach your goals. But be realistic and honest with yourself, giving yourself too much to do in too short a time will make it more difficult to achieve and you will end up feeling stressed. By making your lists more manageable you will be living a more meaningful life. Examine your To Do lists and looking at your goals to see if they need any adjusting to reach or achieve in the given time frame. Here are some general guidelines that may help you to reach or set and achieve your goals:

1. Write down your goals as they seem to be more powerful and easy to achieve if you write them down.

2. Make sure that they are stated positively.

3. Are your goals measurable? It is easier to know and achieve if you are on track.

4. Check if some of your goals are small enough to achieve as this will motivate you for the bigger ones.

5. See that they are realistic and yet high enough to still be challenging to reach

6. Do your goals have priorities that are written down as to when and how you are going to achieve them?

Assess your progress regularly to help you to stay on task. Each time you accomplish a goal, decide whether it was challenging enough or if it was too easy to succeed in reaching it. Make any necessary adjustments to your remaining goals. You may want to make the next goal a little more difficult to reach. If you were unable to accomplish the goal, do not get frustrated. Learn and move on. Always be flexible when setting your goals. At some point, you may find that certain goals you have set are no longer a priority for you. If this is the case, change your goals to reflect the changes in you. Make your goals work for you.

Try something like skiing or dancing if your never have. You will not only be learning, you will also be building a wealth of stories for sharing. This enables you to practice storytelling, while making you the life of the party.

Embrace Your Madness, no buddy not to the point of admitting yourself into a mental hospital, of course. John Russell once exclaimed, ‘Sanity calms, but madness is more interesting.’

This is it exactly, creative genius is considered insanity by so called normal individuals from time to time. Fortunately, this does not stop creative geniuses. The interesting thing is, that generally, being sane or normal limits the thinking process. Creativity enables us to break through barriers. It may sound strange. However, this does not mean that you should develop a creative personality, it may backfire. For instance, George Washington, often wore the emperors clothing into battle or  James Joyce’s Dubliners was written in beetle juice, since he had an extreme fear of ink. On the other hand, Albert Einstein, considered that his cat was a double agent of his archenemy. The important thing is to not become detached from reality completely, while expressing your creativity.

Begin thinking beyond your limits, while considering these tidbits of information. Soon you will be living the life of your dreams, full of growing adventures. Some will say, a good career or they might say family or money or success or whatever. There is nothing wrong with these things, but at the same time there is nothing much meatier to them as answers as well. They dont give us much to chew on – which is to say, they are not really actionable, too much intangibles and common, nothing special as all of us will want the same but to get what we want we have to be different. How can you get something without even aiming for it? We need to be more specific in our goal setting, here it is happiness, to actually achieve them, there is a difference in what we need and what we want.

Work hard, hunker down, tighten your belt, higher, faster, aim for the stars and make a better life to become and remain happy. There seems to be no dignity in happiness, not in this worldview at least, where happiness is considered as frivolous, fleeting, and ephemeral. From where and how will you get the time to rejoice, frolic and be joyful when you are all the time working your backs off? The other reason could be that we are not willing to face the question of what makes us happy: we are afraid that the answer will prove to be something out of our grasp. No matter whwther you are in UAE, Middle east, Saudi, Uk or any place on earth it remains the same.

Maybe you need a million dollars to be happy, and you only have a few thousand. Maybe you need a better job than you’re capable of holding, or a bigger house than you can afford, or a prettier wife or more handsome husband, or better-behaved children. Maybe you need to be smarter, better-looking, more outgoing, taller, healthier, more disciplined, thinner, someone else, which you are not. Maybe you want to play GOD, which is not possible. Can you buy it? At least I cant. There are unhappy people in all walks of life, if it were brains, there would not be unhappy smart people – but there are. If it is money, there wont be unhappy rich people – but there are, if it were looks, there wont be unhappy beautiful people – but there are. And vice versa – there are unhappy dumb people, poor people, and ugly people as well. Just as there are happy rich people, happy poor people, happy dumb people, happy smart people, happy beautiful people, happy ugly people – happy people of every stripe and shape and size.
